FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are you the manufacturer of these devices?
No. Retro Game Consoles is an authorised dealer/retailer. We do not manufacture the devices, and we do not create, modify, or supply the games/software stored on any included TF/microSD cards.
2) Are your products authentic?
Yes. We are an authorised dealer and we only sell genuine models. You won’t receive replicas or swapped versions from us.
3) Do you provide a full game list, and will the library be exactly the same on every unit?
Because these devices use preloaded software and game libraries that can vary by model version, firmware, and production batch, we can’t guarantee an identical game list on every unit or provide an exact, complete title-by-title list for every product. You can expect a large retro library overall, but the way games are organised, named, or grouped may differ. If you’re buying for a specific console system or a “must-have” title, contact us before ordering and we’ll help you choose the most suitable model.
4) Do your retro consoles and game sticks work on any TV?
Most models work on modern TVs via HDMI. If you have an older TV, you may need a model that supports AV, or you may need an adapter depending on your TV inputs.
5) My TV shows a picture but there’s no sound. What should I do?
First, check your TV’s audio output settings and try a different HDMI port. HDMI ARC/eARC is mainly for sending TV audio back to a soundbar/receiver, not required for standard console-to-TV gameplay.
6) Do the consoles and sticks come with controllers?
Many models include controllers, but it depends on the specific product bundle. Always check the “What’s in the box” section on the product page. If you’re unsure, email us and we’ll confirm before you buy.
7) Can I save my progress in games?
Many systems support saving, but it depends on the emulator/software and the individual game. Some devices offer save-state functions, while others rely on in-game saves (if the original game supported it).
8) Can I add or remove games?
Some models use a TF/microSD card storage system. Whether adding/removing works smoothly depends on the device operating system and how its menu software is built. If you plan to customise, contact us first so we can recommend the most suitable model.
9) Can I remove the TF/microSD card anytime?
It’s best to power off the device and wait before removing a TF/microSD card. Removing storage while a device is writing data can cause corruption or data loss.
10) What should I do if my TF/microSD card stops working?
This can happen with storage corruption or wear over time. If you suspect an issue, stop using it immediately and contact us. Also, using good-quality cards helps reduce corruption risk, and safe removal practices matter.
Retro Game Projector FAQs
11) Is a projector good for gaming, or will it lag?
Projectors can be great for retro gaming, but input lag varies by model. Many projectors have a Game Mode/Fast Mode to reduce processing delay, and it’s worth using that setting for the best experience.
12) Why does the projector feel slower when keystone correction is on?
Some projectors add extra processing when image correction features are enabled, which can increase delay. Using Game/Low-Latency modes and minimising extra processing can help.
13) Can I connect a console or stick to a projector?
Yes, if your projector supports HDMI input, most retro consoles and game sticks will connect easily.
Retro Handheld Console FAQs
14) How do I charge the handheld?
Most handhelds charge via USB. Use a reliable cable and power source, and avoid removing the TF/microSD card while the device is on to reduce corruption risk.
15) What language options do handhelds support?
Many models support multiple languages, but available languages vary by device and software version. Check the product page specs or message us before ordering.
